Just when you thought the rain had moved out, more is on the way for the weekend.
Environment Canada issued a special weather statement for Saturday due to potentially heavy rain, and the Essex Region Conservation Authority (ERCA) has extended its flood outlook.
ERCA says the region received as much as 30 to 60 millimetres of rain this week, and there could be an additional 10 to 20 millimetres on Saturday.
"This amount of rainfall, in combination with the existing ground conditions, could create ponding and areas of standing water," said ERCA Water Resource Manager Tian Martin. "This rain could also cause smaller watercourses to rise, and some could spill their banks into adjacent low-lying areas."
At the moment, the forecast does not meet the criteria for a flood watch.
The flood outlook is in effect through 10 a.m. on Monday.
ERCA will continue to monitor forecasts and provide updates when needed.
