Zellers returning to Tecumseh Mall

Zellers is coming back to Tecumseh Mall.

The retailer has announced its continued expansion and its first major rollout in Ontario. A new store will open in Toronto on Thursday, June 18, with a store in Tecumseh Mall to follow in July.

Zellers closed at Tecumseh Mall in 2013.

The company said its debut in Edmonton last fall exceeded expectations and reinforced customer demand for its evolving concept.

The new store will offer home decor, a curated toy assortment based on consumer feedback, more seasonal offerings, including Halloween costumes, and the rollout of Zellers-branded merchandise.

Shortly after the stores in Toronto and Windsor open, the retailer intends to add new brands, including Adidas, NFL, NHL, Juicy Couture, and Dickies.

Zellers also confirmed it's in active talks with multiple landlords across the country, and expects to announce additional locations in Ontario over the coming year.
