Work on Banwell/E.C. Row interchange moving, but more restrictions are coming

Crews are moving on to a new phase of construction on the new interchange on the E.C. Row Expressway at Banwell Road, and it will mean road closures.

Starting at 7 a.m. on Monday, Intersection Road will close at Banwell Road for the next six weeks. It's not expected to reopen until August 28 at 6 p.m.

That means traffic won't be able to turn left from Banwell onto Intersection Road eastbound, or turn right from Banwell northbound to Intersection Road East.

There will also be restrictions on Banwell from NextStar to Intersection Road eastbound.

From Intersection Road, traffic also won't be able to turn left from the westbound lanes onto the southbound lanes of Banwell, or turn right to access Banwell Road northbound.

Work on the interchange started last year, and it's not expected to open until next year.
