Windsor police say a man has been charged after he allegedly waved an air rifle in public on Monday evening.
Officers responded to reports about a man screaming and waving a weapon on Cadillac Street near Alice Street at around 7:30 p.m. Neighbours told police that the man was hollering, throwing objects onto his front lawn, and waving an air rifle with children walking nearby.
A perimeter was quickly established, and the man emerged from his house ten minutes later. He was arrested without incident.
The weapon was seized. Although it was determined not to be a firearm, police treat all weapons calls as such until it is proven otherwise.
The 51-year-old man is charged with carrying a weapon with the intent to disturb public peace.
The charges have not been proven in court.
