A 27-year-old is facing accusations he had twice the legal amount of alcohol in his blood when the car he was driving slammed into a house early Thursday morning.
Windsor police report they were called to the home on Armanda Street between Malden Road and Matchett Road around 2:30 a.m. They found a vehicle on the front lawn with its front bumper against the front steps.The driver was still inside the vehicle.
"Officers observed several signs of impairment on the driver, including glossy, red eyes, slurred speech, unsteadiness on his feet, and difficulty staying awake," police said in a media release. "The driver was subsequently arrested and transported to Windsor Police headquarters, where he provided a breath test that registered more than twice the legal blood alcohol limit."
The man was charged with impaired driving.
There were no injuries reported. The house sustained more than $10,000 in damage.
