Police searching for suspect after attempted bank fraud

Windsor police are asking for the public's help in finding a suspect after an attempted bank fraud involving forged documents.

Just after 3 p.m. on June 17, the suspect went to a bank on Tecumseh Road East near Central Avenue and allegedly attempted to open an account to access banking services.

Police said the suspect presented several forged government documents during the attempted transaction.

The suspect is described as a Black male, approximately 30 to 40 years old, 6’ tall, with a medium build and short black hair.

He is wanted for fraud under $5,000, possession of identity information for a fraudulent offence, and three counts of possession of identity documents.
