A 42-year-old man is facing charges after he allegedly broke into a residence and then barricaded himself while armed with a kitchen knife.
Windsor police report officers were called to a break-and-enter in progress at a home on Ouellette Avenue just after 8:30 a.m. on Monday.
Officers learned a man broke a glass panel on the front door and entered the home. The homeowner was away but saw the suspect through video surveillance and called police.
Police say when they arrived, the suspect was barricaded inside the bedroom with a knife.
Officers de-escalated the situation and arrested the suspect without incident.
The man was charged with break-and-enter and committing an indictable offence.
