There's going to be a change to the Green Bin program in Tecumseh starting the week of November 2.
That's the week collection starts in Leamington, Kingsville, and Amherstburg, and the Essex Windsor Solid Waste Authority says the change is needed to balance collection with new municipalities coming on board the program.
In Tecumseh, residents will have their Green Bins collected on Thursday instead of Tuesday.
The EWSWA has finishing delivering Green Bins to homes in Amherstburg, Leamington, and Kingsville.
Meanwhile, the authority says 11,000 tonnes of food waste and organics have been collected over the past year in Windsor, Tecumseh, Lakeshore, and LaSalle.
A total of 1,300 Gold Stars have been issued in the first year of the program to homeowners who use their Green Bin weekly, set it out at the curb a metre away from other bins, and only put acceptable materials in it.
