University Avenue reopens as construction wraps up

The City of Windsor says normal traffic operations have returned to University Avenue between McEwan Avenue and Salter Avenue.

The city installed new storm sewers, water mains, street lighting, and rehabilitated the road.

Not only is the road open, but on-street parking and bike lanes are open too.

"While the roadway is open and fully operational, some minor restoration work remains, including, but not limited to, overhead utility relocations, removal of existing hydro poles following cable transfers, sidewalk repairs, and some boulevard landscaping," read a release. "Residents and road users may periodically observe crews completing these remaining works.

Next fall, the city will put down the asphalt topcoat between Elm Avenue and Salter.
