Spits Shoot Down Rangers

The Windsor Spitfires beat the Kitchener Rangers 4-1 in OHL action Thursday night.

The Rangers took a quick 1-0 lead in the first period, but the Spitfires scored two of their own to take the lead going into the second. Windsor scored two more unanswered goals in the second frame and kept their lead in a scoreless third period for the win.

Anthony Stefano, Logan Brown, Cristiano DiGiacinto and Markus Soberg each scored one goal for Windsor.

The Spitfires will face-off against the Niagara IceDogs on Sunday at 2:05pm.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
