73's Win Semi-Final Opener

The Essex 73's take Game 1 of the Schmalz Cup Semi Final against the Ayr Centennials with a 4-2 win.

The 73's opened the game with two goals in the first period through Scott Bromley and Tyler Turner.

A powerplay goal in the second period through William Stadder gave Essex a 3-0 lead before Ayr pulled one back through Anthony Pullia.

Eric Hackborn brought the Centennials within a goal of the 73's but a powerplay marker from Daniel McIntyre restored the two goal cushion en route to the win.

Noah Hedrick grabbed the victory with 24 saves in the Essex net.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
