NHL Central Scouting ranked the 17-year-old McCool 147th overall in the draft list of 156 CHL players in North America.
McCool had 12 goals and 16 assists this season with the Windsor Spitfires.
The 2015 NHL Draft takes place June 26-27 in Florida.
