Junior Cups Could Be Decided

The Schmalz and Sutherland cups could both be handed out tonight.

The Essex 73's are in Port Hope for Game 7 in the Schmalz Cup Final. Even though the 73's have lost three in a row, head coach Gil Langlois says the team's performed better than expected and they're pumped.

"I think the whole core group came together better than we anticipated. I mean they're a real tight group in the dressing room, and the leadership's been really good," says Langlois. "As we were getting going, if we had said to the team how would you like to be playing Game 7 for all the marbles, would be you happy with that? And, I don't think there's anybody on the planet that wouldn't be happy."

Meanwhile, the Sutherland Cup could also be decided tonight. The Vipers play in Caledonia in a series where the Corvairs lead the series 3-1.
