Plenty On Boughner's Plate

A busy off-season continues for Windsor Spitfires Head Coach Bob Boughner.

He has already taken a scouting trip to Switzerland to watch the Ice Hockey Under 18 World Championships, run the Spits mini-camp and done some fitness work with the team.

Today is the third Annual Mickey's Run, raising money for the Windsor Spitfires Foundation.

"Our down time is usually three or four weeks in July, and then we ramp it back up here in August," explains Boughner. "So I'm looking forward to the down time, but there's still some work to do."

He says that work includes the NHL Draft in Florida, followed by a coaches conference and the OHL's European draft. The coach adds that he did like what he saw from his young players at the Spits mini-camp, and he's excited about what the competition will be like come training camp in August.
