Local Golfers Leading Players Championship

Some young Windsor-Essex golfers are faring well at the Maple Leaf Junior Tour (MJT) players championship.

After Day 1, Windsor's Shannon Coffey leads the Under 15 girls division after firing a 78, while fellow Windsorite Rachel Cote is in second place after shooting 90.

In the Peewee Boys division, Harrow's Rylan Marontate has the lead after a 79.

Amherstburg's Marcus Slipchuk leads the Juvenille Boys division after a 3 under 68 on the opening day, while Windsor's Ethan Stewart is tied for 8th after shooting a 75.

The two-day tourney at Whistle Bear Golf Club in Cambridge wraps up today.
