High levels of air pollution are possible this afternoon.

An AIR QUALITY WARNING is in place due to the possibility of deteriorating air quality. Hot and sunny conditions are expected to cause increasing ground-level ozone concentrations this afternoon. Moderate risk AQHI values are expected throughout the day with the potential of short-term high risk AQHI values in the afternoon.

When air pollution levels are high, everyone should limit time outdoors. Consider reducing or rescheduling outdoor sports, activities and events.

You may experience mild and common symptoms such as eye, nose and throat irritation, headaches or a mild cough. More serious but less common symptoms include wheezing, chest pains or severe cough. If you think you are having a medical emergency, seek immediate medical assistance.

People more likely to be impacted by outdoor air pollution, including people aged 65 and older, pregnant people, infants and young children, people with an existing illness or chronic health condition, and people who work outdoors, should reduce or reschedule strenuous activities outdoors and seek medical attention if experiencing symptoms.

Three young golfers from Windsor-Essex can call themselves champions.
At the Maple Leaf Junior Tour (MJT) players championship, Windsor's Shannon Coffey won the Under 15 Girls Divison after firing a 78 and an 81 for a two day total of 159. Fellow Windsorite Rachel Cote finished third with a 184 total.
Harrow's Rylan Marontate shot back-to-back 79's to win the Peewee Boys division.
In Junvenille Boys, Amherstburg's Marcus Slipchuk finished first after a 68 and 72. Windsor's Ethan Stewart finished in a tie for 12th after a two day total of 154.
The two-day tourney was held at Whistle Bear Golf Club in Cambridge, Ontario on July 27-28.
