Spitfires Make Comeback To Beat Greyhounds

Despite a slow start, the Windsor Spitfires scored a 5-2 victory over the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds on Friday.

The Greyhounds took a 1-0 lead just over five minutes into the first period, and scored again the in second to give them a 2-0 advantage before the third. However, the Spitfires found their momentum in the third, with Hayden McCool, Cristiano DiGiacinto, Cole Purboo, Aaron Luchuk and Andrew Burns all scoring to give Windsor the win.

Spitfires goalie Mario Culina made 24 saves out of 26 shots on net.

Windsor is now 2-0 in the season.

The Spits will take on the Greyhounds again on Thursday at 7:05pm, at the WFCU Centre.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
