Spitfires Beat Steelheads 4-1

The Windsor Spitfires downed the Mississauga Steelheads 4-1 in OHL action on Friday.

The Spitfires took a 3-0 lead in the first period with goals from Cole Purboo, Aaron Luchuk, and Cole Carter. Aaron Luchuk scored Windsor's fourth goal of the night four minutes into the second. The Steelheads made made it on the board with a goal late in the second frame, but weren't able to gain any more ground in a scoreless final 20 minutes.

Goalie Mario Culina made 24 saves out of 15 shots on net for Windsor.

The Spitfires head to Oshawa on Sunday to face off against the Generals at 6:05pm.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
