Spitfires Weather The Storm

The Windsor Spitfires edged the Guelph Storm 5-4 in OHL action on Friday.

Both teams scored once in the first period, with Luke Boka netting the goal Windsor 15:08 into the frame. The Storm scored twice early in the second to take the lead, but Gabriel Vilardi, Logan Brown and Cole Carter all scored before the third to give Windsor a 4-3 advantage. Carter scored again just over five minutes into the third.

Guelph battle back in the final minutes to earn an extra goal, but weren't able to tie the game.

Goaltender Mario Culina had 43 saves out of 47 shots on net for Windsor.

The Spitfires return home on Sunday to face off against the London Knights at 2:05pm.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
