Spitfires Double Spirit 4-2

The Windsor Spitfires beat the Saginaw Spirit 4-2 at the WFCU Centre on Thursday.

After a scoreless first period, Luke Boka drew first blood for the Spitfires with a goal 3:21 into the second. Aaron Luchuk scored to bring Windsor's advantage to 2-0, however, Saginaw scored before the third to cut the Spits' lead in half.

Jalen Chatfield and Jeremiah Addison scored a goal each for Windsor less than four minutes into the third to make it 4-1. Saginaw wasn't able to catch up in the final frame, scoring only one goal in the final two minutes of the game.

Windsor goaltender Michael DiPietro made 25 saves out of 27 shots on net.

The Spitfires are at home again on Sunday when they take on the Barrie Colts at 2:05pm.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
