Jr. Hockey Wrap Up – December 8, 2016

The LaSalle Vipers downed the Sarnia Legionnaires 7-4 in GOJHL action on Thursday.

Liam MacDougall led LaSalle with two goals, while Tyler Russell, Kaelan O'Flynn, Daniel Beaudoin, Maddux Rychel and Zack Hoffman each scored once.

The Vipers head to London to take on the Nationals on Saturday at 7:30pm.

As well, the Leamington Flyers beat the Strathroy Rockets 4-1.

Griffin Robinson, Dallas Maurovic, Mark Gangnon and Broden Meloche all scored a goal for Leamington.

The Flyers will take on the Nationals in London on December 14 at 7:30pm.

In the PJHL, the Essex 73's scored their tenth win in a row with a 7-1 victory over the Petrolia Flyers.

William Stadder and Tyler Scott were the top scorers for Essex with two goals each. Three more goals were scored by Blake McConville, Dalton Langlois and Quinn Fazekas.

The 73's will take on the Kings in Dresden on Friday at 7:30pm.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
