Jr. Hockey Wrap Up – February 3, 2017

The St. Thomas Stars hammered the Leamington Flyers 6-1 on Friday to snap their four game win streak.

Griffin Robinson scored Leamington's only goal.

The Flyers take on the Nationals in London on Wednesday at 7:30pm.

And in PJHL playoff action, the Essex 73's downed the Mooretown Flags 5-1 in Game 1 of their best-of-seven series.

Eric Shaw led Essex with two goals, while Dalton Langlois, Matthew Rosati and Luke Gecse all scored once.

Game 2 is on Saturday at 7:30pm in Mooretown.

And the Lakeshore Canadiens took a 2-0 series lead after defeating the Petrolia Flyers 5-4 in overtime.

Mejoe Gasparovic, Lucas Gignac, Kyler Carter and Jake Nimmo each scored once for Lakeshore. JJ Percy scored the game winner in OT.

The two teams face off in Game 3 on Tuesday at 7pm in Belle River.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
