Michael Ruttinger, Matthew Rosati, Michael Vieira, Dalton Langlois, Eric Shaw, Adam Gaiarin and William Stadder all scored once for Essex.
Luke Gangnon led Amherstburg with two goals, while Ryan Holzel, Cory Burns and Jordan Luciw each scored once.
The Admirals will try and stave off elimination in Game 4 on Sunday. The puck drops at 7pm in Amherstburg.
