Jr. Hockey Wrap-Up – February 15, 2018

The Leamington Flyers doubled the LaSalle Vipers 4-2 to earn their fifth straight win on Thursday.

Griffin Robinson led Leamington with a hat-trick and Rory DiNiro scored once.

Hayden Johnston and Bradley Vincent scored the two goals for LaSalle.

The Flyers are in Sarnia on Saturday to take on the Legionnaires at 7:10pm. And on Sunday. the Vipers battle the Maroons in Chatham at 7pm.

And in Junior C playoff action, the Mooretown Flags staved off elimination by beating the Amherstburg Admirals 4-2 in Game 5.

Caleb Paquette and Ryan Alexander both scored once for Amherstburg.

The Admirals lead the best-of-seven series 3-2

The two teams face off again on Saturday for Game 6 in Mooretown at 7:30pm.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
