Jr. hockey wrap-up – October 4, 2018

The Leamington Flyers topped the St. Thomas Stars 3-1 in Junior B hockey on Thursday.

Jake Nimmo scored twice for Leamington, and Preston Corp added one goal of his own.

The Flyers will head to Strathroy on Saturday to face off against the Rockets at 7:30 p.m.

And in Junior C hockey, the Lakeshore Canadiens shutout the Petrolia Flyers 5-0.

Nathan Skulley led Lakeshore with two goals, while Andrew Thoms, Blake Bain and Brandon Ireland all scored once.

The Canadiens return home on Friday to take on the Essex 73's at 7 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
