Jr. hockey wrap-up – January 17, 2019

The Leamington Flyers beat the LaSalle Vipers 4-1 on Thursday to earn their fifth straight win.

Thomas Michaud, Adam Jeffery, Jake Eaton and Ryan Gagnier each scored once for Leamington.

Danny Skinner scored LaSalle's single goal of the game.

The Flyers are back on the ice on Saturday to take on the Kings in Komoka at 7:15 p.m. And then on January 23, the Vipers return home to play the Sarnia Legionnaires at 7 p.m.

The Amherstburg Admirals edged the Petrolia Flyers 5-4 in overtime.

Cory Burns scored the game-winner in OT and another during regular play. Jacob Fields scored twice for the Admirals as well, while Cole Welsh scored once.

The Admirals will take on the Wallaceburg Lakers next on Sunday. The puck drops at 7 p.m. in Amherstburg.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
