Express derail the Five 125-119

The Windsor Express made a late-game comeback to beat the Sudbury Five 125-119 on Thursday.

The Express trailed the Five 33-20 at the end of the first quarter and Sudbury retained their lead to hold a 56-43 advantage over Windsor heading into halftime. The Express jumped ahead of Sudbury in the third frame to take a 90-86 lead heading into the final period. Despite a back-and-forth final frame, the Express took a 111-108 lead with just over three minutes left in the game, and were able to hold a six-point advantage for the win.

Alex Johnson led the Express with 25 points and seven rebounds, while Ryan Anderson put up 22 points and had nine rebounds. Quinnel Brown added another 21 points and nine rebounds.

The Express are on the road again on Saturday to take on the Moncton Magic at 6 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
