Golfers hoping to one day earn their PGA Tour cards have taken over some of Windsor-Essex's best courses this week.
The annual Unico Primo Junior Golf Tour stopped Monday at the Ambassador Golf Club in LaSalle.
Dozens of golfers from across the region participated under windy conditions.
Bennett Brazier, the overall champion for the 2023 tour, shot a 69 to win the Junior Boys division at Ambassador. Christian Morneau and Noah Turner were a stroke behind with 70, and Jax Sisson shot a 71.
In the Collegiate Men's division, Kevin Teichroeb collected his third straight win with a 72. Nathan White, Coaton Shepley-Campbell, and Rylan Marontate each shot a 76.
For the Junior Girls division, Emily Young beat Kassandra Rombouts in a playoff for her first 2024 victory. Young has committed to playing golf at the University of Toledo.
In the Collegiate Women's division, Justine Gorham of the St. Clair College women's team got her second straight win, over the University of Windsor's Vanessa Ardovini and Molly Harris.
The golfers visited Seven Lakes Golf Course in Windsor and Erie Shores Golf and Country Club in Leamington last week.
The tour continues Wednesday at Essex Golf and Country Club, then on Thursday at Rochester Place Golf Club in Lakeshore.
After that, there are five stops in Windsor-Essex and Chatham-Kent, beginning this weekend and ending in mid-August.
