Spitfires shutout Sault. Ste Marie in first game after Christmas break

The Christmas break didn’t slow down the Windsor Spitfires.

They were in Sault Ste. Marie on Saturday and ended up winning 4-0.

Cole Davis opened the scoring in the first period, getting his 12th goal of the season. Grabbing the only assist was Ilya Protas.

Captain Liam Greentree doubled the lead a few minutes later. His 22nd goal was assisted by Protas and Ethan Belchetz.

The Spitfires would score their next goal with a couple minutes left in the second period. Adrian Manzo got his 1st of the season and just his 2nd career OHL goal. Ryan Abraham and Jack Nesbitt with the helpers.

Before the end of the period, Windsor would get one more goal from Carson Woodall. Getting assists on the play were Abraham and Cole Davis.

Neither team were able to find the back of the net in the third period.

With the win, Windsor improves its record to 24-7-2-1, while Sault Ste. Marie moves to 15-19-0-0.

The Spitfires' next game is on Sunday, December 29, on the road against the same Greyhounds.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
