What Consumers Want Is Farmer's Advantage

The CFFO says it's to a farmer's advantage to produce what the consumer wants to buy.

A 2013 study shows more than 50 per cent of Canadians buy organic products and there has been a marked increase in the purchasing of local food.

Bethanee Jensen is on the CFFO's board of directors and says by being better stewards of the soil the results can be positive for consumers, society and the farmer.

The formula included no-till planting combined with cover crops, putting livestock back on the land and replanting windbreaks.
