A pedestrian has died following a single-vehicle collision on Walpole Island First Nation on Saturday night.
Around 11:20 p.m. on September 12, emergency services responded to a collision involving an SUV and a person on Chiefs Road, between Tecumseh Road and Austin Road.
The pedestrian, a 48-year-old individual from Walpole Island First Nation, was pronounced dead on scene.
Chiefs Road was closed between Tecumseh Road and Austin Road for several hours for the investigation, but has since reopened.
The investigation remains ongoing, with the assistance of the West Region OPP Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement Team.
Police are asking anyone who witnessed the collision, including dash cam footage from the area, to contact the Walpole Island Police Service at 1-888-310-1122.
