Expect More Record Highs Over The Next Few Days

Coming off a weekend of record high temperatures, southwestern Ontario is set to break a few more.

Environment Canada Severe Weather Specialist Geoff Coulson says Windsor-Essex could set a record Tuesday if it gets up to 15 C (59 F).

A number of long-standing records could fall on Wednesday too in Windsor, Chatham-Kent and London.

"We can get a mild day here and there giving us all a taste of what spring may eventually feel like in the weeks to come," says Coulson. "But it isn't all that often that we see a stretch of [warm] days."

The anticipated high in Windsor and Chatham Wednesday is 19 C (66 F) and 17 C (63 F) in London.

The warm spell is expected to last until Friday before temperatures fall back down to more normal levels this weekend.

Despite a week of spring-like weather, Coulson doesn't think this February will be one for the history books.

"We had more seasonal temperatures or a few colder days to start off February, but it certainly looks like this warm spell will make it warmer than normal," he says.
