Guns stolen from Thamesville-area shop

Chatham-Kent police are trying to track down four more long guns that were stolen during a break-in earlier this week.

According to police, sometime between 4 p.m. on October 10 and 9 a.m. on October 11, someone broke into a shop on Longwoods Road and stole the following firearms:

- a Benelli Super Black Eagle II semi-automatic shot gun

- a Ruger 10/22 Compact semi-automatic long gun

- an Accutrigger Rim Fire bolt action .22 left-handed long gun

- a 17HMR bolt action .22 long gun with a scope.

Police said all of the guns that were reported stolen had trigger locks on them.

This is the fourth time in the past two months CK police have reported long guns being stolen in the Dresden-Thamesville area. Police also reported two thefts at the end of August and one in the middle of September.

Officers are also trying to track down an Arctic Cat 700 ATV that was taken from the shop. It was last seen with the licence plate 9AS04.

The total value of the theft is estimated at $15,000.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
