Traffic stop in Wheatley leads to arrest

A 46-year-old man is in hot water with Chatham-Kent police after a traffic stop on Talbot Road East in Wheatley.

Police stopped the vehicle at around 12:15 on Friday and learned that the vehicle's driver was currently subject to an outstanding immigration warrant.

The 46-year-old was arrested and transported to police headquarters where he was later transferred to the Canadian Border Services Agency.

Wallaceburg woman arrested on an outstanding warrant 

A 25-year-old Wallaceburg woman is in even more trouble with police after a short bicycle chase.

Officers conducting general patrol spotted the woman, who was known to have an outstanding warrant, riding her bike around 3:36 a.m. on Saturday on Wallace Street in Wallaceburg.

Police said they tried to stop her, but she fled from police, only to be located a short distance away at an address on Wallace Street.

Police arrested the woman on the strength of a bench warrant for failing to attend court.

She was released shortly after on an appearance notice with a future court date.

Woman arrested for criminal harassment, failing to comply 

The long arm of the law has caught with a 46-year-old woman after a neighbour dispute in Thamesville last month.

Police said they received a call back in March for a dispute that took police on Sarah Street in Thamesville.

Officers formed grounds for the arrest of the woman for criminal harassment and failing to comply with an undertaking.

A warrant was out for her arrest.

On Thursday at around 3:44 p.m., the woman attended court and was arrested on the strength of her warrant.

She was later transported to police headquarters and held for a bail hearing.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
