Canada Day closures across CK

Oh Canada! The nation's 158th birthday will see closures across the municipality.

Municipal offices and most services will be closed on Tuesday, July 1, in recognition of Canada Day.

Service Ontario locations in Chatham and Dresden will be shut during the holiday, as will the Provincial Offences Court.

CK Public Health will be closed on Tuesday, though after-hours services will be available by calling 1-866-446-8207.

Some services at the Chatham-Kent Healthcare Alliance (CKHA) will be altered during the statutory holiday.

Patients with scheduled diagnostic tests are advised to attend their appointments. Those departments will remain open, as will hemodialysis care and hospital emergency departments.

Libraries, arenas, galleries, and museums will be closed.

Pools, except for the Wallaceburg Sydenham Pool, will be open for free swim from 1:30 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Garbage and recycling pickup will be delayed by one day. All waste, and leaf and yard depots will be closed on Tuesday.

Ride CK users will have to find a different way to get around on Tuesday as buses won't be in operation. When services resume on Wednesday, fares paid for by smart card will have increased.
