Thousands are expected to celebrate Canada's birthday during festivities in Sarnia on Tuesday, July 1.
It's a 12 hour party with events are scheduled from 11 a.m. until just before 11 p.m.
Sarnia's Community Services Coordinator Sean Hanlon said the fun starts at Canatara Park.
"The big marquee event at Canatara Park is the multicultural food area," said Hanlon. "We have about 10 different multicultural food vendors coming with options from all over the world so China, Portugal, Poland and others with delicious food options. There'll be inflatables, some try-it sports with dance tennis. We will also have Cobbler Jay and Corbin the Pirate."
Hanlon said the annual parade will kick off at 11:30 a.m. from Colborne Road and Lakeshore Road.
"Ware actually up 12 floats this from year from where we were last year, so we have 45 entries this year," he said. "We'll have some fire trucks, military vehicles, retro cars and trucks and just a variety of floats showcasing Canadian pride."
The Rotary Club of Sarnia-Lambton After Hours will be collecting canned goods along the parade route for the Inn of the Good Shepherd.
Ahead of the parade, Lakeshore Artisan Wines is hosting a charity BBQ to support children's programs at BGC Sarnia-Lambton. That begins at 10 a.m. at 645 Lakeshore Road at the start of the parade route.
The fun then moves to Centennial Park at 6 p.m. with food vendors, live music, an extreme dogs stunt show and fireworks at 10 p.m.
Hanlon said Sarnia Transit will be offering free shuttle services to both parks from Northgate Plaza.
"We do encourage you to try to take transit because it does get very congested in the park. Another option are the bike lanes and there will be temporary bike lanes set up."
Further details on those routes are available at sarnia.ca/events.
