The Chatham-Kent (CK) Salvation Army raised roughly $400,000 during its annual Christmas Campaign.
The Red Kettle initiative ran from November 13, 2025, to Christmas Eve, with the ministry aiming to raise $560,000.
The fundraiser fell short of previous years, according to Lieutenant Jamie Anstey, Core Officer and Pastor for CK Salvation Army.
"We were down quite a bit from last year, but in saying that, we know too that people are giving what they can give, donors are so generous, and we know people are struggling as well, and we are thankful for those that gave," he explained.
Anstey noted that some of the funds were used for their Christmas initiatives, which include food gift cards and toy donations, but that the remaining funds will be used throughout the year.
The Salvation Army had a total of eight red kettles, with six located in Chatham and two in Wallaceburg.
According to Anstey, the charity will "most definitely" be happening again next year.
"Time goes so quickly, in September we're starting to plan for Christmas," Anstey continued.
He also noted that donations can be made to the CK Salvation Army at any time throughout the year.
