Finn seeking third term on CK council

A familiar face has put her name forward ahead of Chatham-Kent's (CK) upcoming election.

Amy Finn, who has served as a councillor since 2018, is seeking a third term. She's running in Ward 7, hoping to represent people in the northeast part of Chatham.

A former police constable, Finn was first elected in 2018, winning by just 55 votes, and again in 2022 by just 10 votes.

She told CK News Today she decided to run again after getting some local input.

"People have come up and said I hope you're running again," added Finn.

She believes the biggest priority for the next municipal council is affordability. Finn explained that this issue has hit her hard, being a single mother of four kids.

"If people can't afford to live, they can't afford to pay their taxes," she said.

Finn also believes a big priority will be combating the homeless crisis.

As for why she thinks people should vote for her again, Finn was quick to note that people know what they're going to get from her.

"I've told people that I may not always agree with you, but I'll always listen to you. When I make my decisions, I do the same as I did policing, I put the pros, the cons, and I try to come up to a happy middle," she explained.

CK's election will be on October 26, 2026.
