Extreme Cold Warning & Blowing Snow Advisory Issued

Another snap of cold weather is anticipated overnight across midwestern Ontario.
Environment Canada has issued an Extreme Cold Warning for the region and most of Southern Ontario.
Temperatures are expected to drop to near or below minus 20 Celsius tonight. The cold temperatures will combine with strong northwesterly winds to produce windchill values near or below minus 30 by tomorrow morning.
Little improvement is expected through the day Thursday, with daytime highs only a few degrees higher than the overnight low temperatures, and winds forecast to become increasingly gusty.
Very cold windchill values are likely to persist through Friday, then improve somewhat on Saturday.
A Blowing Snow Advisory has also been issued for all of Huron and southern Bruce Counties.
Strong and gusty northwesterly winds are forecast to develop tonight. A few bands of lake effect snow flurries are also expected to form off Lake Huron, resulting in some accumulating fresh snow.
Areas of blowing snow are expected, beginning overnight and persisting through the day on Thursday. Conditions are likely to improve on Thursday night.
