Several Midwestern Ontario community groups are trying to build support for projects that encourage health and well being.
And with that, they are tapping into the Aviva Community Fund for financial help.
Two of the biggest proposals are in North Huron and Brockton where new sports fields are needed.
In Wingham, a new track and field facility is being proposed near the high school and is in the $50,000 - $100,000 funding category. In Brockton, the soccer field proposal in the East Ridge Business Park is in the same category.
Three other projects are in the up to $50,000 dollar range of the Aviva Community Fund race. A proposed soccer field in Chesley, a mentorship program in Bruce-Grey, and a natural playground proposal in North Perth for a community day care.
All five projects are among 400 community proposals from across the country vying for votes.
Voting ends at 4 p.m. on October 23 and the top 30 ideas in their respective idea category and funding level will become finalists.
