Wellington OPP Join Forces In Suspicious Fire Probe

Wellington County OPP have joined Guelph and Halton Police, along with the Ontario Fire Marshall in an investigation of 14 suspicious fires.

The multi jurisdictional investigation has been launched for community safety reasons.

Police are urging the public to report any suspicious vehicles in their communities.

If you own abandoned or vacant buildings, you should ensure they are secure.

Police aslo suggest you consider motion sensing cameras, ask neighbours to keep an eye and regularly check the property.

Any person with information regarding these incidents should contact Detective Constable Heidi Pautsch or Detective Constable Kevin Detweiler from the Wellington County OPP at 1-888-310-1122.

Should you wish to remain anonymous, you may call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS) or submit a tip on-line at www.csgw.tips. You may be eligible for a reward from Crime Stoppers of up to $2,000.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
