High levels of air pollution are possible this afternoon.

An AIR QUALITY WARNING is in place due to the possibility of deteriorating air quality. Hot and sunny conditions are expected to cause increasing ground-level ozone concentrations this afternoon. Moderate risk AQHI values are expected throughout the day with the potential of short-term high risk AQHI values in the afternoon.

When air pollution levels are high, everyone should limit time outdoors. Consider reducing or rescheduling outdoor sports, activities and events.

You may experience mild and common symptoms such as eye, nose and throat irritation, headaches or a mild cough. More serious but less common symptoms include wheezing, chest pains or severe cough. If you think you are having a medical emergency, seek immediate medical assistance.

People more likely to be impacted by outdoor air pollution, including people aged 65 and older, pregnant people, infants and young children, people with an existing illness or chronic health condition, and people who work outdoors, should reduce or reschedule strenuous activities outdoors and seek medical attention if experiencing symptoms.

The first training session of the Huron and Area Search and Rescue Service brought out 40 volunteers to the Hullet Provincial Wildlife Area this weekend.
The not-for-profit group was created in 2018 to provide professional, civilian volunteer ground-based and marine search and rescue.
Interim Administrative Commander Patrick Armstrong said he was pleased with the turnout as volunteers came from as far away as Kincardine to the north and Kitchener and the Sarnia area towards the south.
Armstrong said Saturday was about completing certification which will be completed in April.
At that time, volunteers would be ready to be called out in a search and rescue situation.
Saturday's training involved learning map and compass skills.
