James Scongack, Chief Operating Officer and Executive Vice-President of Bruce Power, has been awarded the King Charles III Coronation Medal for his contributions to Ontario and Canada.
Recognized for his leadership in clean energy, medical isotope production, and economic development, Scongack was selected by Oakville North-Burlington MP Pam Damoff, who praised his ability to unite people and advance Canada's global role in isotope production and clean energy.
"I have had the opportunity to work with James for many years and have seen his leadership firsthand as someone who brings people together to set bold goals backed up by action to build Canada’s leading role – domestically and internationally – as an isotope superpower, while being a tireless advocate for clean energy, public health and strong communities," Damoff said. "I am thrilled to recognize James with this distinguished honour and I know that he will continue this important work, leading by example."
Scongack expressed gratitude for the honour, emphasizing Canada's potential in clean energy and medical isotopes.
“We’re blessed to live in a great country with enormous potential and together we can continue to do great things and bring out the best in each other. I’m grateful for this recognition and continue to be inspired every day, working with amazing people and organizations so Canada can continue to lead the world in clean energy and medical isotope production while building healthy and prosperous communities in Ontario and Canada," he said.
The Coronation Medal, marking King Charles III’s ascension, is awarded to individuals who have made significant contributions to Canada, embodying service, professionalism, and commitment.
