The Huron-Perth Catholic District School Board will have experience at the helm.
At the board's meeting on Monday, November 18, Mary Helen Van Loon was re-acclaimed to the position of chair.
This is Van Loon's fifth consecutive term as Chair of the Board. Elected as a trustee in 2017, she represents the areas of Perth South, St. Marys, and West Perth.
"I would like to thank my fellow trustees for the opportunity to serve once again as Chair of the Board," she said. "We look forward to supporting our system as we work to implement our new strategic plan 'on Fire with the Spirit' and to begin to witness and experience the fruits of this important work."
Tina Doherty was acclaimed to the position of Vice-Chair. She represents the area of Stratford.
The Board will welcome a new Director of Education in the new year. Karen Tigani has been appointed as its Director of Education, effective February 24, 2025. This appointment is a promotion from her current role as Superintendent of Education with the Board.
