Huron County celebrates Pride Month

Huron County is marking Pride Month with a number of different initiatives this year.

A media release from the county shares that the Pride flag has been raised at three County facilities: the Huron County Courthouse, the Jacob Memorial Building, and the Huron County Museum.

During the month, Huron County's Cultural Services department is doing a number of different things including Huron County Library Pride Month Programming, Pride Film Screenings at the Huron County Museum and a 2SLGBTQ+ Art Exhibition called We Have Always Been Here.

The media release on the county website shares that the County of Huron "continues to support initiatives that promote equity, belonging, and visibility for marginalized communities across the region."

"Pride Month is a time to reflect on the importance of inclusion and to acknowledge the diversity that strengthens local communities," said County of Huron CAO, Meighan Wark. "Raising the Pride flag and offering community-based programming is one way the County supports a sense of belonging for everyone."
