The Well Community Collective has entered a partnership with Huron-Perth Children's Aid Society (HPCAS) to continue operating the Well Youth Hubs.
A memorandum of understanding was recently signed between the two organizations, according to a media release from The Well Community Collective.
This new partnership will see HPCAS assume "administrative and operational responsibilities for the Youth Hubs, while preserving the strengths of the existing model, including youth co-design, low-barrier access, and strong community collaboration," according to the release.
There will be no changes to the operations at the youth hubs in Exeter, Goderich and Listowel. Also, Shannon McGavin will continue in her role as Director of The Well Youth Hubs under the new partnership.
The Well Community Collective adds that the partnership "reflects a shared commitment to ensuring young people continue to have reliable, inclusive, and welcoming spaces where they can access mental health, wellness, and community supports."
"The Well Youth Hubs were built together with youth, families, and community partners. This partnership with HPCAS allows us to maintain that vision while ensuring long-term sustainability. Our focus remains the same: accessible, youth-driven spaces where young people feel seen, supported, and welcomed," McGavin stated.
"This partnership is about strengthening what already works. The Well Youth Hubs have become trusted, welcoming spaces for young people, and our role is to ensure that stability continues long into the future. We are committed to supporting the model, the team, and the community relationships that make these hubs so successful," said Kristian Wilson, Executive Director of HPCAS.
