The OHL Board of Governors will vote on final approval of the sale of the Owen Sound Attack next week, and it's expected to go through.
In a letter to the Manager of the City of Owen Sound sent on May 6, Commissioner Bryan Crawford said "the League anticipates the transaction proceeding in the normal course."
The franchise will be sold to a limited partnership group called Ecological Dynamic Sports Partnerships. The partnership was declared on April 17, 2026, and is registered to an over $4-million home in the Rosedale neighbourhood of Toronto.
City council will vote on whether to transfer the lease for the Bayshore Community Centre to this new ownership group at Monday's meeting. Staff have recommended that council move forward with the transfer, saying that a $75,000 repayable note provided under the lease been repaid by the current owner, so the City has no outstanding financial exposure.
Commissioner Crawford said the league remains strongly committed to the long-term stability of the franchise within Owen Sound, and that once the approval process is completed, a public statement reaffirming its commitment will be issued.
City Manager Tim Simmonds also wrote that staff are satisfied that the proposed sale of the team "does not present a relocation or expansion risk and is intended to support the long-term success of the franchise in Owen Sound."
