Several Hanover institutions were placed under a brief hold and secure Tuesday afternoon following a reported shooting in the area.
The Hanover and District Hospital, as well as all schools in town, implemented temporary security measures due to a police response in town along 14th Avenue. Police have yet to speak to CKNXNewToday about the investigation, but shots were reportedly heard in the area.
A spokesperson for Bluewater District School board said "out of an abundance of caution," they initiated a hold and secure at their three Hanover schools. However the measure was lifted shortly after, and all students were able to go home on time.
The hold and secure at the Hanover District Hospital has also been lifted and operations have returned to normal.
More information to come.
