Police Urge Crosswalk Safety

OPP are urging all motorists and pedestrians to keep safety in mind, especially with children back in school.

Just last week, Lambton OPP investigated two incidents where a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle while entering an intersection.

Minor injuries were reported in both low impact collisions.

Constable Travis Parsons says pedestrians must use the appropriate crosswalks to cross a road.

Vehicles must stop before the line and yield to pedestrians.

Failure to do so could result in a $180 fine and three demerit points, with higher fines within designated Community Safety Zones.
