Sarnia City Hall honours former PM John Turner

The flag at Sarnia City Hall is at half-mast Tuesday in memory of former Prime Minister John N. Turner who died on September 18 at age 91.

Mr. Turner was elected as the 17th Prime Minister of Canada, and also served as Minister of Justice from 1968 to 1972 and Minister of Finance from 1972 to 1975.

The Memorial service for Mr. Turner is being held on Tuesday.

In addition to the flag being lowered, City Hall will be illuminated in red and white lights on Tuesday night in tribute.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
